Circumference Group of Little Rock said Tuesday that it has appointed John S. Haley as president.

“John’s experience with operations, business development, mergers and acquisitions, and technology will be an asset to our organization,” Bud Cummins, senior advisor to Circumference Group said in a press release. “John is the perfect person to bring new energy and focus to our expanding investment and advisory teams.”

Before joining Circumference Group, Haley was managing director of the Asia region for Fidelity Information Services, a banking and payments technology company.

In 2004, Haley began managing the Asian market from Bangkok, Thailand, where he supervised several offices around Southeast Asia.

At FIS, Haley was responsible for sales, project delivery and operations for the company’s financial and payments solutions in Asia. over the course of his career in IT, Haley has analyzed, negotiated and implemented the purchase and sale of companies; managed the development of technology products; been responsible for the technology strategy for software and telecommunications companies; and has managed a portfolio of venture investments which his company used as “headlights” into emerging technology markets, according to the release.

The Circumference Group is a technology and telecommunications consulting and co-investing firm that was formed in 2009 by former Alltel Corp. COO Jeff Fox. The company currently employs several former Alltel executives.

Haley previously worked for Systematics, the data processing software company that was acquired in 1990 by Alltel Information Systems, which itself was acquired by Fidelity Information Services in 2003. he also served as senior vice president and CTO of Alltel from 1999 to 2001
