Major Wireless Communications Losers (Sprint, VOD, PCS, AMX) 





Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE:S) plunged 10.69% to $4.26 on an unusual volume of 127.25 million shares after it posted a wider third-quarter loss but added the most customers in four years as the carrier scrambles to capitalize on what’s left of its lead in fourth-generation wireless services. the nation’s third-largest wireless carrier by customers added a net 644,000 new customers, the second-straight quarter of growth. But it continued to lose its most lucrative contract subscribers, largely from the Nextel side of the business..

Vodafone Group Plc (ADR) (NASDAQ:VOD) declined 1.32% to $26.41 on an unusual volume of 7.07 million shares after Vringo, inc., a provider of video ringtones and personalization solutions for mobile devices, today announced it has been approved and launched in the Vodafone Shop in eight countries: Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and the UK.  Also Reuters reported that the Bombay High Court on Wednesday deferred to November 23 a hearing of Vodafone Group Plc’s petition against a move by Indian tax office to treat it as an agent of the seller in its 2007 acquisition of Hutchison Whampoa’s mobile business in India.

MetroPCS Communications, inc. (NYSE:PCS) dropped 2.84% to $10.27 on 2.99 million shares.  J. Braxton Carter, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the company, will speak at 9:40 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Wednesday, November 10th at the Wells Fargo Securities 2010 Technology, Media and Telecom Conference in NYC. the stock has been moving within a range of $5.52-$11.24 over the past 52-weeks. So far in this year the stock has surged 34.60%. the stock touched an intraday low and high of $10.26 and $10.61 respectively.

America Movil SAB de CV (ADR) (NYSE:AMX) also decreased 2.29% to $56.71 on a volume of 2.44 million shares. America Movil S.A.B. DE C.V. (America Movil) is a provider of wireless communications services in Latin America. the stock has been moving within a range of $42.24-$58.65 over the past 52-weeks. the stock has increased over 0.66% in last five trading sessions.
